Q: How much does it cost for a web site?

A: This really depends on what you want. Our prices start from as little £100 sterling for the creation and publishing of a basic first page. Currently this includes if desired, a FREE ".co.uk" domain name of your choice from what is available at the time. Subsequent basic pages start at around £40 sterling. NOTE, these creation costs are one off . We don't charge ongoing usage licence fees like some design companies. To keep cost to our clients as low as possible, we endeavour to utilise free web hosting companies. As with everything though, nothing is entirely free and these companies may require, not always, that the host places some of his advertising on your pages. We can of course set up fee based web hosting if required that doesn't have this draw back.

Q: Why is the first page more costly?

A: The bulk of the work when creating a web site is in its first page. This is where the main design work takes place, where the menus are created and the various links established. Then a host has to be found (if required) the site then being registered and uploaded. All this is where the majority of time is involved. It can take many hours to construct a well balanced and effective site even if it just has a single page.

Q: How much space would I get in a single page?

A: A single page would be deemed to be that which would normally approximately cover up to a single A4 sheet of paper when printed out.

Q: What other type of work do you do?

A: HTML-IT provides a wide range of services in addition to web design. These include web site maintenance, animated graphic design, company Logo design, shopping carts etc. The best thing to do is ask and we'll tell you if we can do it, how long it will take and how much it will cost.

Q: How long does it take to produce a web site?

A: Depending on the individual requirements and work load, we aim to have a basic site up and running within two to three weeks. Obviously this depends on all the required information and agreements being in place.

Q: Can I get email as part of the package?

A: If a client opts for our Domain Name registration service, email address forwarding is normally included, however, you would still have to have an email account elsewhere. If you don't already have an account, you can opt for one of the free email services offered by Yahoo, Lycos, Wanadoo etc. Although these are free to use normally, if requested to be set up by HTML-IT we may ask for a small setup fee. Opting for fee based web hosting would most certainly include email accounts as part of the package.

Q: How often can my site be updated?

A: If a client opts for our web site maintenance package their site can be updated at a frequency that suits him. For most clients though once a month would normally suffice.

Q: If I have a site made for me by HTML-IT, do I own it outright?

A: Once the site has been fully paid for the client has the rights and ownership to that particular design in its combined form and any information published therein. The separate components used in its construction (unless commissioned on an individual and separate basis, logos etc) remain the property of HTML-IT and maybe utilised within other designs.
